Stevie Ray's Blues Bar was constructed in 1994 by Fred Wooten and Michael Pollard, and had it's grand opening on October 21 of that year. It didn't take long for "Louisville's Premier Blues Club" to take off and become one of Louisville's most esteemed nightspots. In 1996 ownership of the club changed hands, with Tom Rice, Dee and Gary Thompson, Tony Gross , and Mike Kenney buying the club from Wooten and Pollard. Under the new ownership Stevie Ray's continued to thrive and has since cemented itself as a Louisville landmark. At Stevie Ray's we continue to take our music very seriously and have set a high standard of showcasing the very best national and local blues and rock bands. We are located in the heart of historic downtown Louisville on 230 E. Main Street in a beautiful brick building which was first constructed in 1906. While Stevie Ray's once catered to a "middle aged audience," we now incorporate new and fresh ideas to include an audience of all ages 21 and older. We have live music Monday through Saturday, come check us out! |
