George Thorogood & Buddy Guy
@ Outdoor Stage
Any discussion of Buddy Guy invariably involves a recitation of his colossal musical resume and hard-earned accolades. He's a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, a chief guitar infulence to rock titans like Hendrix, Clapton, Beck and Vaughan, a pioneer of Chicago's fabled West Side sound, and a living link to that city's halcyon days of electric blues.
Internationally acclaimed, a Grammy winner and now an inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Guy has firmly cemented a blues legacy that places him squarely in the company of his heroes who came before.
George Thorogood and his band the Destroyers have been playing blues-rock for more than 30 years. Hits like the classic "Bad to the Bone," the swaggering "You Talk Too Much," and the 1993 "Get a Haircut," are just a few examples of what you might experience at this show.
Thorogood has a theory. "In any field, especially the arts, there are always two things - 'genius' and 'very clever.' There's no in-between. You're either a genius or very clever." While Thorogood views artists such as John Lennon as genius, he likens himself to very clever.
On Friday, August 22 you can see both of these great blues artists in just one incredible show. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster and at Horseshoe Casuals.
