Dancers needing housing are placed in chaperoned dormitories at the University of Louisville. We try to match students of the same age and level within their housing assignments. Transportation is provided to and from the dance studios and events. Lodging includes a daily meal plan with three meals a day.
Parents or relatives over the age of 21 may apply to be chaperones. In exchange, the chaperone and their child/relative will receive complimentary lodging.
Students get to experience some of the region’s top arts organizations and attractions during field trips taken in the evenings and on weekends. Trips have included visits to the Speed Art Museum and Louisville Science Center, performances of Music Theatre of Louisville and The Stephen Foster Story and backstage tours of The Kentucky Center. All activities are chaperoned for students under 18. There is an activity fee of $50 per session for all students residing in dormitory housing.
All students will perform selections of classical and contemporary repertoire as well as variations learned during their summer studies as part of a Performance Showcase. Parents, families and friends are invited to join us for these Performance Showcases which will be followed by a farewell reception.
Auditions will be held in several cities around the region, please visit our website at www.louisvilleballet.org under School/Summer Programs section for a complete listing of locations and dates
